All these pretty chainletter thingys, you know, the ones that say things like "send it to 10 other people or you'll die" or "you've been kissed, now go kiss 20 more freinds and you'll live a happy life". they bog down the internet. All this data fills up the paths and clogs them like cholesterol in an artery... eventually it takes a really long time for "packets" of information, blood cells if you will, to get through.
Imagine that you are the starter of one of these chain letters. you send it to 20 of your deviant art freinds. and then they in turn send it to 20 of theirs, and then 20 of theirs and so on and so on et cetera et cetera.
The first set of sends only takes up maybe 2k worth of data with 20 messages. But the second set has (20*20)+20original message (420!), which could be about 42k (the size of a medium sized jpg image). The third teir, after the message has been forwarded only three times, has (20*20*20)+(20*20)+20 messages (or 20^3+20^2+20^1), which is an astounding 8420 messages and about 842k (a high resolution jpg image, or about 20 medium sized ones).
By the time this message gets forwarded to the 10th level, you have 20^10+20^9+...20^2+20^1, or about 10778947368420 messages! (thats a little over 1000terabytes of data)
So please, dont forward chain letters, chain mails, chain messages or anything of the sort. No you wont die, you wont get bad luck, and you won't lose freinds.
DeviantArt, and the internet on the whole can't take such a burden.
Its awaste of bandwidth, a waste of good paths, a waste of time... Why not send something of more value?
So, take up this plea, and paste the following in reply to any chain letters you recieve:

You wouldn't say too much either if you'd taken a bullet in the tongue.
